Good day. We are new to the area and are quite interested in the nature preschool. We live near Royal Roads and wonder if the course is run from there. Also, do students who attend this program transition well into a regular classroom setting? Is there a 2nd language aspect to this program? Any information you could send us some information, we would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Christine & Jeremy
Hello Christine and Jeremy,
Thank you for your interest in the Nature Kindergarten. The registration for September 2013 at the Sangster Elementary Nature Kindergarten is completed at this time. There is a nature preschool being offered at Westshore Parks and Recreation and at Swan Lake in Saanich.
Our first cohort of students has not transitioned to Grade 1 yet but we are hopeful that this transition will go well. This model has existed for several decades in northern Europe and children transition as well as their peers, if not better, into formal schooling. There is no 2nd language aspect to the Nature Kindergarten program.
